Maintaining our Equipment in Excellent Condition for your Event

Whilst we have some quieter time from being out at events we are still working at the warehouse and yard. Each year between October and March we take time to go through every piece of equipment. This article takes a look at some of the typical maintenance tasks we’ve been undertaking in the last few months.

External Cleaning

Every week after an event we clean down all event equipment. Come the winter we take extra time to remove dirt from all the nooks and crannies, behind the tow draw bar and around wheel arches

Brake Servicing

The coldrooms are built around al-ko trailer chassis. These need to be maintained and checked annual. Each trailer will travel many hundreds of miles, if not thousands of miles per annum.

Chiller Motors

Our annual servicing on the chiller fleet includes Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM). This is where a national company come and check all gas pressures & levels, sensors and door seals.

Roof Cleaning

Why stop at the bits you see? To finish the process or cleaning down the trailers they get their roof’s cleaned too. A good soaping, brushing and jet washing removes the build up of green on the tops.

Dust & Dirt Removal

We rent fridge trailers to some of the largest festivals across the South. The dust and dirt from the fields sucked in & trapped in the grills, therefore reducing efficiency. Hosing the grills is an essential task to undertake.

Trailer Lights

The bumpy back roads and lanes across Sussex can take their tolls on the trailers, sometimes bulbs rattle loose on the trailers, connections come apart and bulbs blow. Every trailer is tested and checked in the quiet season.

Generator Servicing

Much like a car, generators need regular maintenance and running to keep the engine well lubricated and avoid future issues. We service trailers if they’re close to their required intervals. Every two weeks, if they haven’t been out on a hire, we run them under full load and check battery charge.

Firepit Cleaning

Our firepits are out most weeks across the summer. They’re always cleaned down after each rental and often resprayed to ensure they look great but during the winter we go over every firepit and ensure they’re back to tip-top condition.

Heater filters & injectors

The indirect heaters don’t go ignored either. They have in line fuel filters and injector nozzles which require replacing every 12 months. We fully stripe down the heaters, open up the inside heater jet burner, clean it all down and replace the key serviceable parts.

Whats included in our rental prices?

Our prices are typically all inclusive. This means we include delivery, cleaning, shelving on chillers, cabling on generators and often fuel for running the generators too. The business overheads don’t just stop there though. We also need to cover other general business costs. When you look below you’ll see that there is more to renting equipment than simply what you’re directly paying for.
