We’ve got an apology to make – ‘sorry’ for letting the News section of the website lapse a little in recent times.

After our busiest summer season we’ve ever had, the small events term all had some well deserved time off this January. It was lovely to get a winter season break from muddy fields, cleaning down equipment each week and towing equipment trailers across Sussex & Surrey.

Though-out January 2025, the office and bookings side of the business have been super busy. We’ve now sold out several weekends in the summer for generators. Plus, August Bank holiday is close to being a sell out again too. Yes, already! Got an enquiry? Click below today!

In the meantime the yard and warehouse team are cracking on with Autumn & Winter maintenance. Check out the upcoming article on what they’re up to in the Winter downtime. Everything we own is checked over, inspected, cleaned, serviced and maintained ahead of another busy year.

Community and School Fireworks

Grizzly Bear Events rented 40kva generators, outdoor lighting and team members to remain on site for two events this November. One first one near Hook in Hampshire was hosted by the village event committee. The second in West London was for a Parent Teacher Association’s firework extravaganza. This was on a school cricket ground so we offered real firepits, allowing younger students to chance to still see real fires, most importantly though there had to be no any ground damage. We also added a rope surround for safety.

Winter Wedding Power & Staging

Winter marquee weddings are becoming more popular each year. In November we headed across to Basingstoke for a wedding with the full GBE package. Power, refrigeration (yes it’s still needed in November), marquee heating, staging and festoon lighting! It was little boggy and blustery but we got everything in neither-the-less! Sailcloth marquee from Hambledon Marquees – great to work with this team once again!

Christmas Corporate Catering

Christmas has always been a busy time for Grizzly Bear Events. We add extra fridge and freezer space for several catering companies. Used for keeping raw ingredients and prepared food chilled ahead of the event day. This winter they were hired by butchers, farm shops and Christmas hamper retailers across Sussex, Surrey & Kent.

Religious Celebrations

It’s becoming increasingly popular to host celebrations and parties at home. We were asked for a client to create a colourful garden celebration for Lohri festival, which welcomes the longer days after Winter Solstice. We installed colour wash floodlights, festoon on high poles, patio heaters and a firepit for the dancing to take place around. Having a team member on hand for the event we lit the firepit, turned on the heaters. GBE ensured over 100 of the clients friends and family had a great night celebrating.

Heaters at Parties

Our heaters continue to keep guests warm at outdoor marquee and tipi events. We’ve added heating for barmitzvah’s, 18th’s and wedding anniversaries this Autumn. We include installation, fuel for 8 hours use and typically install ahead of the event day so you’re all set ready to go.

Coldrooms for Christmas Food

Another repeat booking for us! Having successful installed the same size 2.4m walk in cold-room in 2023 and 2024. We returned to this well known frozen food supplier again this December for the modular cold room to be built again. These flat pack units are ideal for when we have to build in side rooms with only 90cm wide doorways!

London Food Festivals

Hampton Court Winter Food Market is a popular attraction across the December period. This year we were asked by an experiential events company to supply a small 2m size refrigerated chiller trailer to keep a well known coffee brands drinks ice cold for sampling. It’s fair to say they well stocked the fridge! This rental also required a late night installation, hence the photo in the dark.
