With 2020 having being rather, let’s say…..dissapointing year for weddings and events, it’s time to move on and look to 2021 and further into 2022.
The government is on track to vacinate the majority of the adult popular by late Autumn. This should (*fingers crossed*) lead to the major relaxation of event coronavirus restrictions in time for late June and into the winter of 2021.
It’s expected that 2022 will be a BIG year in events. Think of all those parties, weddings, anniversaries, festivals, gigs, garden parties and other celebrations we all love attending. Everyone wants to get back out there any enjoy themselves!
Get ahead of the game!
Now is the time to get planning. Above all, we cannot empathase the importance of booking ahead and enquiring with your suppliers.
Our diary for 2021 is busy with lots of postponements from 2020 weddings and parties. At the moment we’re receiving lots of new enquiries for 2022 events from clients hoping to secure key bank holiday and peak week dates.
Similarly, having spoken with industry friends in marquee companies and venues they are in also the same metaphorical boat. Clients are planning further ahead than they typically did.
Key aspects to get organised:
- Venue | eg. lakeside setting, view of rolling hills, family garden
- Structure | eg. marquee, tipi, stretch tent, sail cloth tent
- Power | eg. generator
- Catering | eg. hog roast, 3 course meal, street food vendor
- Photographer
Where to start?
We take a look at the key steps to getting each of your key suppliers booked and confirmed.
- Choose a couple of dates you'd like to consider - aim to quote based on these rather than a vague 'Summer 2022' enquiry.
- Start speaking to the key suppliers who you'd like to work with about those dates.
- Ask for a few quotes to be sent over based on what you are looking for.
- Start to finalise the arrangements with your chosen few.
- Check postponement / cancellation policies - with some uncertainty still out there it's worth checking these.
- Get booking!
- Sign booking forms and check T&C's
- Pay deposits
- Send out save the dates - people are going to very busy in 2022. If you want them there let them know!
- Treat yourselves, pop open the bubbly
- Give yourselves some time between now and starting on the next steps - events can be stressful to organise.
